Description:
The Museum of Classical Antiquities is an integral part of the Department of Classical Studies. The collections are used for teaching Classical Archaeology and Ancient History as well as the classical languages. The Museum is also open to the general public. The collections comprise both originals deriving from the ancient civilizations around the Mediterranean - mainly pottery - and modern casts of ancient Greek and Roman sculpture. Among the highlights is the skeletal and ceramic material from a Bronze Age tomb at Jericho (c.a 1500 B.C.).
