Dong-Eui University

Description:
Dong-Eui College (a four-year institution) upgraded from Gyeongdong Engineering Technical College, opened its first classes in March 1979, with 400 students in six departments. It was a great accomplishment for the Dong-Eui Educational Foundation, which had established the college in 1976 with the plan of developing it into a university.

It also launched Dong-Eui Middle School and Dong-Eui Industrial High School in 1967 on a mountain side in the Jeonpo-dong district, Busan. The period before Dong-Eui College was established was an era of rapid change in Korea. The University Museum has conducted 15 excavations and research activities, including the Yangdongri Dig Site in Gimhae City. Of important note is the fact that it has provided many relics and research results which decisively support the existence of the Gaya Kingdom in Ancient Korea.
