Description:
The Museum of Yeungnam University was established to promote exchanges and improvement of cultures, both locally and internationally. The museum collects, preserves, and exhibits materials related to Korean history, archaeology, arts, folklore, and anthropology.

The university museum possesses 12,687 artifacts donated and collected and 10,000 artifacts excavated. In terms of quality and quantity, the museum is one of the best museums in Korea. Artifacts of Silla and Gaya Cultures excavated in Daegu and Gyeongsan areas are especially well represented in the collections.

Exhibition space stands at 2,100㎡ and consists of 11 rooms and lobby. There is a 6m high rubbed copy of inscription on Gwanggaeto the Great's tombstone at the lobby. First floor is the permanent exhibition space and includes rooms dedicated to archaeology, sculpture, arts and craft, paintings and writings, folklore, and donated collections. On the second floor are rooms displaying artifacts excavated at Imdang (name of archaeological site), ancient maps, donated artifacts, and general arts.
