Description: The collections of the museum comprise 65 000 specimens. Considering the aspect of the history of science, the museum values most highly its collection of apparatuses, instruments, devices and various collections used in the university for scientific research since the 19th century.
The museum also holds an archive including various records associated with university and personal papers of faculty, a photo and an art collection.
The permanent exhibition describes the history of Tartu University through a collection of objects from a wide range of disciplines and student life dating from the 17th century to the present.
