Description:
The University of Canterbury is the proud guardian of a large and varied art collection. The major strength of the collection is its representation of Canterbury art and artists, in particular those who have taught or studied at the University or at the Christchurch College of Education. The primary purposes for the art collection are to enhance the environment, and to provide an excellent resource for teaching and research. The collection is made available to staff, students, external researchers and the community.

Many works are on display throughout the University and can be viewed during the University’s normal hours of opening. Works not on display are stored in the Macmillan Brown Library and can be viewed by appointment with the Art Collections Curator.
