Description:
The Laboratory of Archaeology and Ceramoteca are a specific unit of the Department of Anthropology at the National University of Colombia and attached to the department of Archaeology. The group operates since 1970 and has supported regional archaeological research on the Upper Magdalena, Magdalena Medio, Eastern Andes, Amazonia, Nariñense Altiplano, Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Valle del Cauca, Llanos Orientales.

The Laboratory of Archaeology has a systematic reference collection of ceramics, the "Ceramoteca", with more than 50,000 fragments representing all of Colombia, stone artifacts and faunal remains.
