Description:
The Entomological Museum Francisco Luis Gallego (MEFLG) of Medellín was founded in 1937. It is a reference for entomologists and taxonomists of different groups of insects, as well as undergraduate and graduate students from different universities of the country and for others interested in Entomology. The central taxonomic Collection, the largest, consists of about 230,000 specimens, of which 16,000 are identified to species level. Its greatest value lies in the types, specimens of endemic species and ecosystems with a strong missing or human intervention.
