Description: Laboratory was opened in 2010, aims to retrace the most important stages in the evolution of agriculture and agricultural science in Umbria and the rest of Europe over the past two centuries. The collections on display relate to the agricultural mechanics with equipment for tilling, harvesting and processing of the products. The museum collections come from the Regio storage of agricultural machinery; by the Foundation for Rural Education of Perugia and a donation of Banca Etruria. The Royal filing a ministerial structure was established in 1898 in order to allow farmers and landowners the use of modern machines; for this purpose the deposit was equipped with machinery from abroad, including equipment American, British, German and French. Recreational still maintain, exceptionally, the original paint, with the ancient writings and decals, that increases the historical and documentary value. The machinery of the Foundation for Education agrarian kept in the laboratory are interesting as coming from the company that surrounds the museum and as a witness to the history of one of the most important estates in the region. The third core equipment comes from a donation of Banca Etruria and has allowed us to greatly expand certain areas of exposure, in particular those concerning the processing of agricultural products and crafts related to the rural world. The antiquity of the machinery of Banca Etruria also allowed to extend the history of the collections, otherwise concentrated in the period between the end of the nineteenth century and the first decades of the twentieth century. The section of Mechanical and Agricultural Engineering is only a part of the collections preserved by the laboratory, as it will be added to the substantial collections livestock husbandry which constituted the Museum of the Faculty of Agriculture of the University. The exhibition of the finds farming and cultivation outside the museum of the main agricultural crops will allow in the future to provide an exhaustive panorama of the evolution of agricultural sciences, integrating the three main factors of agricultural production: plants, animals and machines. The collected evidence of the transition from a technology based on the use of wood and the towing animal, a technology based on the use of steel and internal combustion engines. The exhibition is divided into the following sections: a) The first tillage; b) The refinement of the land and other farming operations; c) The revolution forage; d) The collection of tubers, roots and cereals; e) The processing of agricultural products and crafts related to agriculture.
