Description:
YSU History Museum was founded in 1959, as a department. In 1980 it

was reconstructed to be the history museum of the university.

The collection consists of over 7000 museum exhibits.

The main exhibit consists of two sections – history of the university and

archeology. The history section of the University presents the creation

and work path of the university, emphasizing the role of the “Mother

University” in the formation of higher education in Armenia. The archaeology

section showcases finds from Stone Age through the Middle

Ages, discovered through excavations by the YSU Archaeology and

Ethnography Chair.
