Description:
The Natural History Museum was established in 1974 and transferred to the present building in 1978. Natural History & Technology Museum of Shiraz University by more than 5500 m 2 is one of the biggest museums in Iran that isrelated to research center of Shiraz University.
Its multifarious collection comprises samples of animals, plants, rocks and fossils, subdivided into the Zoology, Anatomy, Geology, Botany, Technology, Entomology , coins, stamps, Astronomy and Anthropology Departments.
Museum informationhandout, preparing, trainingbillboard and pictures. Short course meeting and seminars and experimental assistance with students to better understand and nature of life, are part of activities in ShirazMuseum. Each year approximately half of million people visit the museum which 80% are student.
In this museum about 7800 specimens of plants, fossils, rocks,invertebrates and vertebrates such as: sponges, corals, worms, arthropods, echinoderms, mollusks, various types of sharks and fishes, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals are exhibited.
