Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi

Description:
Vahan Artsruni, prominent Armenian doctor, social figure, active proponent

of establishing a medical department, along with a number of

other doctors, initiated the opening of a medical department in the

university in 1922. The department of Anatomy was founded, based on

which, a museum was created in 1930.

The collection consists of around 500 museum exhibits. These are

samples, skeletons, and inner organs that were naturally dried or preserved

in formaldehyde.

The main exhibit, aiming to contribute to the study process, presents

materials pertaining to human anatomy. Skulls, skeletons, inner organs,

embryos of anomalous babies are presented. A separate showcase

is displaying natural organs, as well as brains and other organs of

renowned scientists and cultural figures.
