Description: The Museum of the Opole University of Technology and X-ray Tubes was established on November 8th, 2011 to commemorate 45 years of the existence of the school as well as the anniversary of the discovery of X-rays by Wilhelm Röntgen. The museum is the only facility which displays a collection of X-ray tubes in the world and that is the reason this fact is included in the name of the museum. Gathering of objects started in 2005 as part of a private collection of an employee of the Opole University of Technology, Grzegorz Jezierski, PhD and was continued by the museum from November 8th of 2011. The collection consists of X-ray tubes used in various fields - medical, industrial, X-ray diffraction and X-ray fluorescence as well as unique sources of X-ray radiation such as sources for X-ray lithography, dismantable impulse tubes or micro-focus sources.
