Description: The Museum of Warsaw University of Live Sciences was established in 2006 by the decree of its Rector and it is part of the Warsaw University of Live Science Main Library organization structure based on Information-Library Organization System Regulation (Chapter VI of the Regulation). The Main Library is the seat of the Museum. It is the youngest university museum , since it was opened for public in 2008. The museum collections relates to the history of the Warsaw University of Live Sciences as well as University staff and its historical predecessors: Agronomical Institute in Marymont, Industrial – Agricultural Courses at Museum of Industry and Agriculture as well as Agricultural University of Warsaw.
The collections of the museum include documents, archives, photographs, publications, brochures, manuscripts, educational boards, herbariums, furniture, memorabilia of university staff, commemorative diplomas, medals as well as gifts and ancient research equipment, measuring tools and laboratory apparatuses. The Museum of Warsaw University of Live Sciences registers and promotes the history of the University which is considered as one of the oldest agricultural schools in Europe. The Museum organizes many exhibitions, cultural events and educates about the history and tradition of the University. Its role is also to act for better intergenerational integration of academic environment.
