Description:
The Museum shows collections of instruments used in teaching and research at the University of Gent, since its foundation in 1817, up to the middle of the 20th century. The collection covers all fields of science: physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy, topography etc. Some 700 in‹struments are exhibited, but the museum depot has many more (some 5000). Upon request, this depot can be used by specialists for scientific research. The museum also has a well-furnished library, open for scientific consultation, not for general use.
