Description:
Yonsei University Museum originated in 1924 as a department of the Main Library. In March 1924, many people donated ceramics and Joseon dynasty coins, establishing the University Museum.

In September 1981, the Yonsei University Museum was reorganized to raise the former museum to the level of a general museum and now includes the areas of prehistory, history; fine arts, ethnic customs, medicine, geological formations, extinct animals and plants, flora and fauna, old printing blocks and research materials.

Not only does the general museum develop, research, preserve, and exhibit items from the traditional culture and natural history of Korea, it is also planning to link them organically and systematically with the course curricula offered at Yonsei University. The museum is located in the Centennial Memorial Building.
