Description: The Museum was established in 1951 with the aim to promote commercial and industrial education and practical knowledge about commercial products. In recent years a number of research and study projects have focused on the promotion of the Japanese traditional craft industry, for example, pottery, porcelin, lacquer Ware, textile, and the Museum exhibits items that illustrate the raw materials and partially finished stages of such traditional crafts, and the development of new goods, from a social background. The Museum is open to the general public as a place of lifetime education, providing access to videos, catalogs and other reference materials, and holding various public lectures and courses.
