Description:
180,000 insect and related arthropod specimens. The material held has been mainly collected from within New Zealand and is particularly strong in the fauna of the South Island, the South Island National Parks and the Chatham Islands. There is also a good range of specimens of agricultural and horticultural importance. Particular groups of insects are strongly represented, including various families of Coleoptera, micro Hymenoptera and Lepidoptera. The collection includes primary types.
