Description:
The H.D. Gordon herbarium is an active but small teaching and research collection of about 20,000 plant specimens, It began with the personal collections of the University's first Professor of Botany, Professor Hugh D. Gordon. Today it is housed in compactor units (saving space) in the New Kirk building in room KK 515, and its specimens are available for study by researchers and students. Its international code (Index Herbariorum) is WELTU. 700 fungal specimens that used to be included are no longer part of WELTU.
